Woodshed President Dominic Tancredi offers quality drum instruction on several percussion instruments and in several musical styles. Private lessons are available for nearly every stage of ability - beginners looking to learn the basics, intermediate students looking to get to the next level and advanced players looking to fine-tune their hand technique.
Dominic's philosophy is to teach musicianship, not just how to hit a drum. His patient and encouraging attitude make learning fun while ensuring the fundamentals of good technique, reading and listening are developed over the long-term, no matter what the style.
Students have ranged in age from 5 to 65+. Age and ability are less important than a drive and dedication to success (and to having fun in the process!)
Woodshed Percussion students have fun while learning to play in a positive environment, and each session is a one-on-one, hands-on, multi-media experience tailored to the individual. Participation in unique performance and competition opportunities is encouraged. Scheduling is flexible, with day, evening and weekend sessions available (though space is limited!) Instruction sessions are conducted in our Cleveland studio (local house calls are also available). Woodshed also offers drumming workshops, drum clinics and pipe band, drumline and marching band instruction.
