Rexsell "Rex" Hardy, Jr. is a varitable force on the R&B, hip-hop and pop scene. For the last several years, he's been the powerhouse behind multi-platinum superstar MARY J BLIGE. "Li'l Rex" is no stranger to the stars. The soft-spoken Chicago native has held the chair for Chaka Khan, Avant, R. Kelly, to name just a few. Though he spends a great deal of his time on a tour bus, Rex is also a sought-after producer and programmer. Like many on the R&B scene, he started out playing gospel in church. He quickly made friends with the drumming legends he looked up to (including Teddy Cambell, Nisan Stewart, Gerald Heyward, Jarod Barnes, Lil John and Calvin Rodgers). When the pros were in need, they called Rex to sit in. In 2004, this talent and commitment landed him the permanent gig with Mary J Blige.
